Help Build a Healthier Lander Community

Check out our Annual Report

Since officially opening our doors in February 2023, we have provided over 200 patients with free health care and wraparound services. Click the link below to read about all we accomplished in 2024, through the support of our volunteers, donors, and community!

About Us

The Lander Free Medical Clinic is a 501c3 charitable organization founded by experienced Lander healthcare professionals who recognized the need for effective and innovative solutions to improve the health of our community. Joining more than 1,400 free and charitable clinics nationwide, LFMC serves adults in the Lander community and greater Fremont County area who are uninsured, and have nowhere else to go for care.

More than Medicine

To those who utilize our services, we are more than just a clinic. We’re a safety net, a starting point, and sometimes a last resort for those navigating complex medical and social challenges. Our mission is simple: to provide compassionate, patient-centered primary care at no cost, while treating the whole person with dignity and respect. Our patients are our neighbors. Many have been suffering silently from treatable conditions for years. That's why we take our responsibility seriously—not just in how we deliver care, but in how we sustain it.

Ensuring we make the most out of each dollar is a top priority. By engaging our community and building lasting partnerships with local healthcare providers, we've been able to negotiate lower-cost services for our patients.

Volunteer-Powered Care

Fremont County is home to many skilled and compassionate healthcare providers who serve our community every day. Among them, a dedicated group chooses to extend their commitment by volunteering their time and expertise at the Lander Free Medical Clinic, often after long hours at their regular jobs. We also rely on our AmeriCorps VISTA member and Registered Nurse volunteers to ensure that quality care reaches those who might otherwise go without.

Thanks to the many service-minded individuals who volunteer at the clinic, we have been able to assist over 250 patients.

We are currently taking new patients. Please be advised that new patients must complete an intake before visiting with a provider. Please visit our Eligibility Page for more information on what you need to bring to your intake appointment. Our clinic currently focuses on PRIMARY CARE. We do not have the ability to see patients in an urgent care setting. For urgent care, please visit Lander Medical Clinic or Community Health in Riverton.
